Well im getting a new monitor and dont mind paying a little bit more for one (well im still a student so maybe not as much as some ;) ) since I wont upgrade it for a while. I like the look of the Samsung SM-960BF 19" LCD Monitor - Glossy White (MO-036-SA) simply because of its response time and brightness. Dont know a lot about them but has anyone had any experiences with it good or bad. Just read the post on the acer widescreen too, is a widescreen a lot better than a normal shaped one. Ill be playing a bit of CS on it but also do solid modelling CAD for my degree on it too.

Thanks for any advice

well WS depends on your preference really, nice for movies certainly and there are a lot of excellent 20" WS models emerging at the moment. The Samsung 960BF should be very well suited to some fast gaming and for office use. The only draw back of this technology (it uses a 4ms TN Film panel) is that viewing angles are pretty restrictive and movie playback a little hampered by noise. I think as long as you're not planning on watching a lot of movies on it, it would be an ideal choice really.

yes go Widescreen..... i just got a BenQ 20" Widescreen and its great.... to have so much desktop space is very appealing.....

check the policy re dead pixles though before you buy... mine arrived with 1 dead and BenQ didn't want to know about it..... was very ****** off with their attitude..... luckily the good people at OcUK replaced it with a new one, even though it wasn't their problem !!
