I would like to point out Batman is the stupidest super hero ever in the sense the guy has no bloody powers yet is rated so highly. He is just a clever man with money. Same as a me (minus the money :) )

He's not a superhero.
This is the exact reason he's my favourite comicbook character.
No superpowers, no fancy (and convenient) weaknesses, just a highly skilled, highly trained, highly intelligent man, with vast amounts of money and technology at his disposal. Superpowers are stupid.

But they haven't improved it, it's essentially the game game on a new engine with a few more characters thrown in.

Mortal Kombat was never a great game any ways, it wasn't the leader in it's genre and how on earth they ahve gotten away with making EIGHT of the games, I will never ever know.

It started out by trying to shock you, now the only shock I recieve from mortal kombat is by them announcing yet another game.

I would argue MK 1, 2 and 3 progressed in how "good" they were. The later ones on the PS2 wasn't too bad at all, at least I quite enjoyed them. Very fun, not as complex as Tekken or Soul Calibur - but just good relaxed fun.

As for MVC2, it alongside SC at the time wre the only 2 reasons I purchased a second hand dreamcast (years ago now).

Totally agree, once you had done all the finishing moves and got over the shock factor of all that gore in a game it was a pretty rubbish fighting game.

What next Mortal Kombat V the Simpsons
 
Is MK even a significant title now? It's not been any good since the 90's and looking back (and playing it again) it wasn't even that good then. Pull of a couple of finishers, turn someone into a baby and that's about it really. There are much better fighting games out there that don't rely on novelty.
 
I knew it would be MK when they announced they were unveiling something today

not to bothered really, MK fell off, Megadrive was the days now its all flop after flop
 
As much as I love the older MK games, I really think Ed Boon should call it a day on the MK series. He's milked it enough now and it just starting to get a bit repetitive and boring :(
