So far I have

1. Checked Ram in dif slots and on its own. (separate sticks)
2. Tried dif cpu
3. Tried dif psu
4. Tried dif gpu
5. Changed about 1 billion settings in bios

All out of ideas the thing just wont boot.

Spoke to tech support they said to rma the board but I am still within 7 days so decided to rma it if they don't find a fault get a refund if they do find a fault change for another motherboard. Bit of a &^%£ paid sat delivery and now got to pay more to send it back.

tbh I think 2 but not 100% sure there are 2 sets of sata ports. Some gray ones and some black ones. One reads sata 6g and the other set sata 3g.

All drives are in the gray sata6g ports. 2 cd drives and 2 hard drives. Bare in mind the manual states to run optical drives in the sata3g if installing via disk. i tried via usb and disk so should in theory make no difference.

Also motherboard bios only show settings for one controller and detects all drives properly.

if you've already packed just let them test it

Ok probably the best option tbh as you can see I have done everything I possible can. Even if it did somehow work in the other sata ports the motherboard would be basically useless to me as only 2 sata 3g ports and 6 x 6g ports, and I need a min 4 ports.

Basically I have sent rma ticket. How good are OCUK at detecting faults?

I believe that the motherboard is faulty. I have spoken to tech support on the phone and they also believe that I have tried everything I could, and recommended I RMA the board. So I explained I am still within 7 day of buying the board and would it be possible to RMA the board and if they do not find a fault with the board to receive a refund instead, but if they find a fault receive a replacement.

Tech support said that this would be fine and no problems.

Not had to RMA items due to faults before so I am a little worried. Any idea how long takes for them to test it? As wana get this sorted before 7 days are up so I can get a refund if they somehow find no fault.

I wonder if the Gigabyte UD3 has same Voltage issues as the UD5/UD7. Gigabyte would have been my first choice. If someone could confirm that the UD3 dont have the same issues as the other Gigabyte boards I wonder if OCUK would switch them for me?

if u send it monday and they receive it tuesday which is within the 7days, the tests doesn't come in to that

has long as they receive it within the 7days , your fine

If it helps my 990X EVO is rock solid using 2x4GB Corsair memory. Voltages are good with a mild overclock on a Phenom II 720BE.
Lovely board, must be a problem with yours.
