Hey guys,

I now know that it is my wireless keyboard and mouse causing me problems in-game ( http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17781193&highlight=username_sam.wheale ) so I’ve decided to go back to good old ‘wired’ – you know where you are with wired ;)

Because I like the Microsoft keyboard shortcut keys I’ve got my eye on the Ergonomic 4000 – it seems to get consistently good reviews from what I’ve seen.

Btw, does anyone know what connection it uses and how long the cable is? I’ll probably be needing an extension…

On to the mouse, that’s were I need a bit of advise :)

I’ll be do doing a fair bit of gaming in the near future but also a lot of web browsing/research and general office application work.

I like the look of some of the serious gaming mice, but because I’ve never bought one before I don’t know where to begin!

Your recommendation would be great :D

Cheers,

SW.

Regarding the cable length, if it is anything like my Microsoft Multimedia keyboard then the cable is probably about 1.5m at a guess. I've actually used the Ergo 4000 but it was a while ago so I can't say more exactly. I think it is USB but again, long time ago.

Mice are very much personal preference but the Logitech G5 (old or new version) and the Razer range as well as the Microsoft Intellimouse v3(re-released) or Habu are all worth a look. Best bet is to nip into your local PC shop and try a few if you can.

Okay, thanks for the reply mate ;)

I'm going to go ahead and order the keyboard now but take a bit more time to decide on the mouse - I'll take your advice and have a look on the highstreet to see what fits best. I also forgot to say earlier that I'm a lefty, so I need one that'll be a universal fit :)

I use the right-handed mouse button setup, but I need a mouse with a neutral design for comfort...

Thanks,

SW.

any old keyboard ususally does it for me... but ad have to recomend the Intellimouse as sed above, i find it the Dog's...

i have a Logitech MX518 on my other comp and i cant fault that either so pretty much everything 'pro waster sed' =p

The Intellimouse Explorer v3.0 is the one I was talking about before you mentioned you were left handed, the ordinary Intellimouse that you linked to is also a pretty good mouse. The ones I've used/owned tended to creak a little but they lasted very well, until I sold them so for all I know they are still working. :)

The Razer range of mice look pretty good? They also seem to be ambidextrous :D

Have any of you got any specific recommendations?

Cheers,

SW.
