Hey all,

Looking at replacing my old Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop 2.0 Keyb/Mouse combo. Definitely going to pick up a Logitech MX Revolution but was wondering about recommendations for keyboards. Not fussed whether it is wired or not as I realised my keyboard never needs to move from my desk. Also realised I never used the extra media keys etc. so they aren't necessary in a replacement (in all honesty prefer if it didn't have any to cut down it's size)

Any suggestions? Nothing over £30 though considering how much I will be laying out for the mouse in the first place. As long as it's good quality and will be decent for day to day stuff and games.

Thanks for your help

Russ

MX Revo is not the best for gaming from what i have heard.

I was looking at picking one up myself to compliment my di novo edge, but reading around said not a good choice for gamers.

Guess it depends on what games you play, if mainly fps (bf2, 2142) then i wouldnt get it.

I got a G7 CF Edition instead and love it.

Keyboard wise, hmmm

Enermax Aurora Brushed Aluminium Keyboard - Black but its 46.99 loved mine, still have it but let the missus have it.

Yeah I did look at the Enermax but bit too pricey.

I do play FPS and RTS games but not too often so a gaming aimed mouse like the G7 might be a bit of an overkill (although I did consider it), unless the MX has some flaw that really ruins the gaming experience? Otherwise I liked it for the extra buttons and design used for general day to day desktop stuff.

Ok on second thoughts will get the G7, I like the ability to change sensitivity and the swappable batteries...still leaves me with a keyboard dilema :)

lol glad i could help with the mouse.

The enermax really is worth it mate, if you can stretch to it.

Budget keyboard wise the saitek eclipse 2 is supposed to be good. I did have the first version a while back.

Yeah was looking at the Saiteks. What's the difference between the v1 and v2 apart from the ability to switch and dim backlight colours?

I used MS Wireless Optical Desktop 6000 v2 and Logitech MX Revolution and it still great in my games... the mouse seem so cool - dont have any problems at all
