My Razer Mamba is a couple years old now and is on its last legs, battery bloated/battery door broken and side buttons losing responsiveness.

I want to replace it soon, but am unsure as to what mouse to replace it with!

I'm considering waiting for the Ouroboros to come out, but I have no idea when that's going to be and can't find an easy answer.

As it has been such a long time since I last bought a mouse, I don't know what's the best now. There's no real budget.

Obvious purpose is gaming, and at least a couple additional buttons are necessary.

What would you recommend?

If you like that kind of grip, and lower build quality :P

(unless that has changed, been years since ive used anything razer)

I had the MX1000 and then the MX Revolution, then this one.

MX Revolution was the best mouse out of all of them. Had a chargeable dock and the side wheel was awesome for volume control.

This mouse however (was free to replace the one I had before it) has got flaws. The scroll wheel has become rusty, by sweat I guess but I am a very clean gamer, I have a glass desk so I have to be. Also the metal coating on the sides is slowly removing.

Logitech have awesome customer service but this mouse is not worth the price. The quality which the MX Revolution had is no more.

I'm after a new mouse with buttons for MMO gaming but also looking slick like Logitechs mice. I don't want something with gaps in it to change it's size or the lights up. :p

g600 mmo?

You're going to hate me for this but sooo many buttons lol.

I guess I have to make a choice. I'm a FPS guy first but I play/ed GW2, EVE and right now I'm playing torchlight. 12 side buttons is just overkill for me. There's no pleasing me!

Its got to be the Logitech G700, which is a cracking mouse. Plenty of programmable buttons, 5700 dpi which blows the 1500 that you only have with the performance MX. You just need to change the standard battery as it doesn't last that well when using it wireless ;)

Totally agree.

I have the G700 too, it fills your hand very nice and using the right software you can program all the buttons and do macros too.

I've got a G700 also, fantastic mouse. I couldn't do without so many buttons now!

Further to the battery life though, its poor! If you get one upgrade the battery to something like a 2700mAh (it takes an AA rechargeable). I got a USB AA battery charger so I've always got a spare one on the go for a quick swap out. At 1000 polling rate on wireless, it goes through a battery every 2 days with heavy gaming. It does come with a cable to charge or use as wired mouse but I always forget to charge it this way.

SteelSeries Sensei - best mouse by a country mile.

I tried out pretty much all of the 'top' mice and the Sensei came out head and shoulders above them all.
