New mouse please

Well done, you can adjust the acceleration using software.

He meant the hardware "built in" acceleration which CAN NOT be adjusted and most mice have some degree of built in acceleration.

He also said and I quote :

With the Logitech g9x / g500 you can't fully turn off mouse acceleration off as the mice themselves do have in built acceleration. Not a problem for MMO's etc but for those looking for an fps mouse should stear clear.

This is nonsense. This mouse is ideal for FPS games.

I don't care what you or he says about 'acceleration', be it 'built in' or not. The FACT is the mouse works great for FPS games and so it's a vapid and redundant moot argument. Well done you for making me correct you. ;)

If you do look at the deathadder 2013, the imperator 2012 is the same price and is slightly different - shorter, tiny bit shallower, fair bit heavier, clicks curve downwards.

Both track very well, just different attributes.

Both quite a bit over £40-50 though :/

I have small girly hands and used a fingertip grip with an imperator

Works great for you and great for others, but still if you are looking for "the best" mouse for FPS the G9x is NOT that mouse.

OP, what mouse did you get in the end?

Mice are all personal preference, I think comparisons can only be made by shape/sensor/build quality

Rest I feel is personal preference, as I've seen people use a wide array of mice at tournaments and they still blow heads off, In regard to acceleration, some mice have it built in which can be frustrating so that's something to note, as a lot of CS players hate acceleration, and I do myself but I've played with acceleration in duel games where spinning the mouse on a low sens ain't possible for the pace of the game, and movement.

So I feel when helping people suggest mice the most important factors would be Shape, Sensor, Build quality, then really the other details, are trivial as without buying the mouse you wont know as its how it feels in your hand. and reacts to your movements.
