New MSI 670 power edition won't start

Tried it in the other pci-e slot? Or a mates pc? Just before u send it back it might be best to rule out a fault that isnt the card. If its within 14 days tho u could send it back as DSR.

Btw did you see on asus site if there was a newer bios to update to to see if it helped at all?

I live in the middle of nowhere so i cant do that, the slot is not as fault as my 7870 woks in it, and i dont have a second slot to try it in.

Any thing else and I mean any thing at all that I can try before i send it back?
 
Shame, well only things would be is to try updating bios if theres a update available. If it semi works with no usb devices in try plugging the kb and mouse in diff usb slots around or somit. Or try configuring the bios for usb differently or somit that helps if u can or mess about with the gfx stuff in bios incase that helps tho google the terms available in there if ur not sure what each of them do. ;)

If after that it doesnt work then pop over to the customer service part of ocuk forums and open up a discussion about this issue and link them to this thread on what you have tried.

Thanks very much for your help, ill see the usb thing in bios, but i have spent all day (since it arrived at 11) trying to figure this out, I may phone overclockers tomorrow and ask if they have any suggestions, if not then ill get a replacement, if that doesnt work then im sticking with amd until i upgrade my cpu to intel

If you have bios version 1302 no , Doing anything to windows will achive nothing !
 
How about attempting to re-install windows? Not necessarily do it, but just see if it gets to the stage before you actually install it. Would rule out the software then.
Also make sure it is definetly seated correctly and that your 2 x 6 pin cables are properly fitted. If your on the latest bios, doesnt seem like theres much else you can do.

Waste of time, the BIOS does not see the card....Anything after POST is irrelevant !!
 
Primary video controller: GFXO-GPP-IGFX-PCI

(this is done with the 7870 in, as i cant get anywhere with 670)

other options are:
GPP-GFXO-IGFX-PCI
PCI-GFXO-GPP-IGFX
IGFX-GFXO-GPP-PCI

will any of this help?
