you will lose your settings but as long as you have your sim in when it restarts the setup wiz should detect them and set it back up automatically. Either that or backup your phone first using the pc suite then restore it after the update.

What 'branding' would one lose by changing product code?

I debranded my orange n95 the other day to get the new firmware and tbh i cannot notice anything different from the orange branding originally on the phone.

:D

Heh, other than that small detail nothing, right? :p
Have there been any big updates regarding the quality of video capture? I remember the launch one I played with was really laggy

I seriously wouldn't recommend anyone updating to version 12 firmware. It appears that nearly everyone is experiencing the missed key press bug. It is very very irritating, and you frequently misspell words, get PIN codes wrong etc, because it hasn't registered some of your key presses.

Have to say its annoying i cant update to firmware v12 and im sim free too, im stuck on v11. Is anyone else having this trouble as well. If i remember correctly think its something to do with the phones serial number, feel free to correct me if im wrong here.

Some people don't have problems, but a lot of people do. Once you've updated the firmware, you can't go back, so you'd be stuck with a phone where the key presses don't always register. That's why I'm saying avoid the update for now otherwise you might be unlucky and find yourself with a phone that works properly 50% of the time.

Seriously, don't bother until you get word that the keying problem has been sorted. You'll be kicking yourself if you update to version 12 only to find you have this issue, as you cannot go back to version 11.

Ok cheers for the advice, i will i will wait til there is a newer one out.

I updated my N95 yesterday - all I can say is wow. That AGPS is incredible - it takes an average of around 5-10 secs to get an lock on satellites, even when walking. It has really changed the phone - I am very very happy with it now.:) Combined with MGmaps (google satellite with GPS) and improved camera the phone is now almost perfect! (Bar the battery life..of course)

Update your N95 asap!
