I currently have a WD MyCloud mirror 4TB (2x 2tb, raid 1)

I use it to back up my data and OS plus use it for streaming movies, TV Progs etc

Its now getting full with only 385gb space left.

So I am going to buy a single drive NAS for movies etc as these are not critical items so no need for raid

Do I stick with WD brand or should I concider other brands?

Edit: Oh dear, just seen the reviews for the latest WD My Cloud and it gets slated. Apprently no where near as good as the old one :(

I can only speak of Synology as I have a DS218j but it's great and does everything I want it to do, there's loads of apps available and a great support network for it.

For your usage would it not make sense to get a HP Microserver as you can stick in quite a few huge drives and have it doing everything you need?

Microservers with unraid are pretty easy to use.

If your new solution doesn't last forever, maybe take a look at a synology or qnap 4 bay. I found my old qnap needed more 'babying' than my current microserver does now.
