New Network Setup?

Ive just ordered new broadband from Be* and activation is set for the 10th Jan and i am looking to improve my current network setup. The Be* Box is poop so i was looking at getting this:

Does anyone know if this will work with Be* I will only be on the 8mb Value package so from what i have read i only need a ADSL2+ compatable router as i dont need the upload plus stuff? or am i wrong?

So that will upgrade my current router so i can stream/transfer files better via wireless but i also want all my computers in my room to be connected "Wired" so will i be able to run 1 single cable from the router and connect that to 5-Port Gigabit Desktop Switch?

Yes that router would work and you shouldn't have a problem connecting a gigabit switch to it. I'd struggle to recommend anything from Belkin though, given their reputation for making utter garbage.
 
£100 seems like an insane amount to spend on something made by Belkin. I'm totally uninterested in 802.11n though, so maybe that's just what they cost.
 
Yes, you're spot on about the gigabit switch. I have one connected to my router and all the PCs with gigabit capability use it. My network printer is only 100Mb so is on the router.

That router will do the job but may be overkill unless you have matching adapters for whatever wireless devices you're using. If they're only 54Mb then save money and get a 54Mb router.

only as long as the Pc's have network cards supporting that speed. otherwise they will run at thier set speed. ie, 100mb.

im yet to use a belkin device that has failed (and ive just one or two..)

Ive yet to own a Belkin that hasnt . . . . :D. Included is bluetooth that doesnt drop the connection when you sneeze, pass wind etc, and wireless intrernet which is exactly the same. Cable routers that refused to assign an IP if the pc was connected to them etc.
