New noisy HDD - RMA?

I've just built a new system for my son for his birthday which includes a Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (ST1000DM003) HDD

It is very noisy, much noiser than my main system which has three HDs in it. Can I send a drive back "because it's noisy". It's working fine in other respects. I ordered Seagate because they're usually very quiet.

That's weird. It's been running a couple of hours now and has gone much quieter. In fact, I can barely hear it now. :-| confused.

If its inside the 14 days since you bought it and you are not happy forget RMA and just DSR it instead and get a full refund and get a different drive.
