It's quite long but it's not all that thick, noticeably thinner than the N95. The thickness is usually the dimension that people care about for pocketability.

The GUI looks a lot slicker and quicker - something Symbian really need to work on - lets hope this is true. Web browsing also looks as good as the iphone experience, Im impressed. Maybe Nokia are finally sorting things out, I like my 5800 but it could do with being a bit nippier..

Worse is which network is going to be offering it.

It´s a highly web dependent N Series phone, you NEED a network with good online bundles, something O2, for example, is not famous for.
In addition, there´s the Skype factor, and the fact that Nokia are loath to remove it from the mobiles, something networks are not very happy about.

Personally, I´d like to see it on 3, but knowing them they´ll only get it 6 months after release. :(

Eh? I have an O2 web bundle on my n95, £5 a month for unlimited use, cant argue with that

Well snap :)

Something I am worried about, however, is the screen sensitivity. I got a play of the 5800 earlier and it´s not at all what I expected. i was thinking iPhone-style receptiveness. You have to mash the 5800, I was under the impression that it was capacitative touch screen like the n97... Are we expecting the same?

this phone looks freaking AWESOME. It really will be between this and the OmniaHD for me... but the physical keyboard just looks delicious. Exciting times are ahead, thanks for posting the demo! :D

What, you mean the same o2 that's offered an unlimited web bolt-on that is free on 30 pound+ contracts, and an additional 5 pounds on less than that, for almost a year now?

A 1 second google would show that all Nokia screens are resistive. The iPhone is capacitive.

Just googled, my apologies, I should have before but you really don´t have to be patronising.

A resistive screen? That´s really killed it for me :( I´ve been looking forward to it for months and somehow didn´t twig on the resistive screen.

Quickest way to learn is to suffer 2 seconds of embarassment. :D

It's not a bad thing... the screens are still pretty damn sensitive, and it means you don't have to touch it with bare fingers to make it work.

I´ll take the punishment, but only cos it´s you (*flutter eyebrows*).

I´ve bad an iPod touch for the past year and a half and golly have i fallen for capacitative touch screens, I prefer not having to mash the phone to get it to work. Smacks of the bar tills at work. On the other hand, maybe it´s sensitive enough... June (fingers crossed) can´t come soon enough.
And realistically speaking, i can´t see any realistic contender for ages after that, so I´ll have to happily resign myself to this phone.
