New Nokia smart phones

Last one I owned was the Nokia 8.3, cracking phone. it was their flagship a couple years ago. Snapdragon 765G 5G, 8GB RAM etc.

I picked up a G50 as a backup phone to test things. All my old phones I use for this were getting a bit old.

Downside thus far is low res screen, and speaker is loud but mediocre quality. Its also a bit too massive. I'm not sure I'd use it as a daily for that reason.

I thought it was good bang for the buck. Stock Android. It got it for about 130 euros. Pretty up to date with standards for a low end phone. I'll probably pass it one to one of the kids.

Nokia was big business in the late 90s / early 00s when most people had a Nokia of some sort. Later on in the 00s, they came out with some cracking handsets such as the Nokia 6600 and the N95. Then in the 2010s, Microsoft took over and killed it and people went Android or Apple instead.

So I'm posting here to say I do hope that Nokia makes a comeback and just be themselves again i.e. MS not piggy-backing. It would be nice for them to attempt a Symbian line to see how a more modern Symbian OS could hold up but also to continue with Android so not to put all of their eggs in one basket.

I always had Nokia’s back in the day. The N95 was an awesome phone back in the day, I had the black 8gb version. Loved it, was so pleased with it I thought next one should be awesome and keep up with all the rivals. So I upgraded to worst Nokia phone in history, the n97. Haven’t owned a Nokia ever sense. I have read and heard that they are back with some very good budget to mid range phones. So have been looking at them and very tempted so far.

New Nokia smartphones are pants. It's better to stick to samsung or iPhone. If these are out of your price range then samsung do a 'A' range which is affordable.

At he same price point the Nokia's are better. The cheaper A series are poor and the better ones much more expensive and bloaty.

The last couple of years have been disappointing for Nokia fans, but that could be about to change with the release of the X30!

The specs are solid, although it's a shame that Qualcomm removed 4K video.

Kinda tempted to give this subscription from Nokia a go.

£22 a month for the X30, 90 day commitment. Includes insurance for loss/damage/theft, upgrade or change device at any point after the 90 days.

Surprised to see no proper reviews yet though, considering it's apparently in stock and shipping.

Not true. I owned the Nokia 8.3 their flagship at the time and it was brilliant. Snapdragon 765G 5G, 8gb ram, stock android, good camera. It also looked beautiful.

Well, I just ordered an X30, I was wavering between it and a Pixel 7, and the finance hassle with the Pixel store swung it.

Quite excited about a change, been on my Pixel 3 XL since launch.

Interested in knowing how the X30 is, if you could let us know?

It's arriving tomorrow, will share my thoughts.

I hadn't realised it has face unlock, just noticed it on the spec sheet, that's a plus.

Excellent Iam currently deciding which one to go for also, the trade in for a pixel 7 is winning at the moment. As they will give me £250 for trading in my I phone x. Plus free pixel buds. Making the pixel 7 around the £360 mark.
Would certainly like to hear your thoughts on the nokia x30 once you’ve got your hands on it. As I haven’t seen one in person yet.
