I want some new number plates for my car, the current ones look a bit tatty.

I was looking at this place http://www.platecreator.com/designer/

£25.50 for both inc delivery in the style I want.

I was thinking 3D letters, the Euro stars with GB logo as I hope to drive across Europe again with a black border.

Any other places worth checking?

Thanks

Dubmeister (online). Pressed metal, normal UK font, normal UK reflective'ness. None of that EU / Dealer crap on it - just my registration. You can get the EU logo on it if you chose though..

Got mine from a crash repair centre. To be honest, thinking about it now, it would probably make any vigilant potential buyer think my car's been an accident. The reality is that my Dad works there and they were free :o

You can't "stand" them. You want to chill out a bit.

The ones I got from Motor Factors are just plain. I thought this was illegal but like the look and 3 years on no peeling or fading so cannot complain.

The geezer who I bought my car from kept his reg so made me up new plates, started peeling within the first month!

I'm considering those pressed aluminium plates from Dubmeister as suggested above, worth the £30 you reckon? Should look nicer than the plain plastic, and hopefully won't deform or rust or anything like that.

They just look naff as we dont really have pressed plates in this country. Just get some normal ones from the dealer for 20 quid and forget about it. Pressed plates are for people with a 15 year old Mk3 Golf with a roofrack on the top and a bonnet bra.

Cant stand pikeyplates with BOBS CRASH CENTRE or BOGNER REGIS RADIATOR SUPPLIES on the bottom :p

Behave yourself, all that's written at the bottom is 'Abbey Coachworks' in quite small lettering. Certainly less ***** than mismatching/peeling plates. If it was 'MAHINDER PATEL'S CRASH REPAIR BIZNESS', then I probably would have binned them and went to SMC Ford and got a set made up.

You think they only look naff because they don't conform to the standard plate here in the UK? I think they look quite smart, but I suppose I'd have to see how they'd look on the car itself.

What's a bonnet bra? (Or am I missing a joke?!)

Photobucket/imageshack etc. are all blocked at work :( But I did a quick google and found out, should really research before I ask silly questions...

Bra typical Americanism for bro, brother or brudda! First heard whilst watching the highly amusing Dog the Bounty Hunter.

Or people who like them, on their car, not yours.

*Shrugs*
Go ahead - buy plates with absolutely nothing writting across the bottom of them.
Without the postcode of where the plates were made and the BU number printed on the plate then it's illegal.

Could mean an MOT failure and in theory can also be a £30 fine and form forcing you to correct them in 7 days.

:D

2002 Saxo VTR of Chav™.

Could be worse though, I really can't stand the one's where people get the German font for their VW, or French font for their Renault etc..
