New number plates, with old font

Hi all,

I'm needing a couple of new numberplates for the car we've just bought, but would prefer to have the same font as it would have had in 1998, rather than the 2001-onwards font.

I'm sure someone mentioned somewhere that does this on here a few weeks back, but my search skills are lacking today, and can't find it!

I'm not adverse to putting plates on with the new font, but if I can get the older font, then that'll be great

Anyone got any ideas? Looking to get new plates ordered by the end of the week, so it'll be here ready for when we actually start driving it properly

Just a thought! Is the pre-2001 font valid on 2001+ cars?

His car is a 1998, N reg car...so how does cars post 01 not being allowed pre 01 font make any difference at all?

He doesn't want to put pre-01 font on a post-01 car. He wants a set of replacement plates with the original pre-01 font.

Well its how it is - he has a 1998 S registered Mitsubishi Galant which he wishes to buy plates for in the original 1998 style.

Quite why I dont know - I've always thought the pre 01 font looked pretty awful.
