Hi all,

I recieved a new Top of the Range Crossfire System from OCUK today and it seems to be dead. Not sure if it got damaged in transit but there were scratches on the case. I can live with that but then I opened the case to find both Raptors ****** and at an angle. i took one out and the rail had snapped off one side (piccies attached).

When I boot up the system it does the BIOS check then says that there are no Drives? and that the RAID config is broken.

I tried to reinstall WINXP but it does not recognise any drives. I took some pics of the drives and BIOS screens.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

If its one of their prebuilt systems, i'd return it.
The nice thing with pre-builts is its not your problem what goes on inside, so if its broken, just give it back or at least contact their tech support about it.
Thats one of the little luxaries of pre-built systems that you have probably more than payed for in the price.
You have also payed for a hassle-free system, presumably because you didn't want to muck around in it, so let them sort it out for you.

Also you never know what else might be damaged or about to fail on you, the dislodged raptors are a sign that it probably got knocked about a lot.

Do you know how the returns work as I am desperate for this new system.

Will they ship another and picup the dead unit at the same time? I really dont want to take a day off work or wait until the weekend :(

Hi there

Sound a webnote or call them first thing. If you wish they will send a courier to collect it and return it to OcUK to be repaired or replaced. If there is not any major physical damage and your happy they maybe able to instruct you over the phone. Either way however you want it to be dealt with OcUK will make sure it happens and do our best to have you a fully working un-damaged system by the weekend.

I am just loogin a call via the weblog and will place the unit back in the box along with the software that came with it. It will be ready to pick up in the morning if needs be.
