New OcUK Website

Looks really nice - I like the stock indicators. But new or old site, the reason I will continue to shop here is not just the quality and speed of service, but mainly the help and wealth of information on these forums.

My new rig, ordered from OcUK and built only last week, has been spot on - I could never have done it as well without the help of people here. So cheers, I raise my glass to them and everyone that contributes.

As I've said earlier on, it looks very nice, but reduces the ability to browse in any way that's usable. I can't just scroll down a page and read about the features of the products in a category.

I have to click on one, open it up, take a look, go back, click on the next one, have a look, go back, click on the next one. That was one of the few reasons why the OcUK site was nice to visit.

I'll agree that it looks cosmetically slightly more modern (aka like every other site out there, different colours), but that shouldn't come before usability.

The previous site was old school and inviting, the new site is modern, but the site is too "busy".

Tabbed browsing works a treat.

There's always one....

I agree that you can open lots of pages in tabs, but that still requires the opening of lots of tabs manually from the page.

Which could lead to a lot of tabs in certain categories.

My main grumble is that it's become a generic web store instead of a nice place to browse and shop.

agrees with johnc, got a shock when i came on tonight to see this new layout. It does look better to the eye but I liked it how it was displayed before, the ease of looking at items was ideal. Now its just like many other sites which i have avoided because of this type of layout :(

Well i don't like it...

Just looks like competitors sites like a mirror image. i loved the simpleness of the old site it just needed some tweaks and maybe just a little layout update.

And i loved the large pictures next to the products not these little things,
the old layout was much cleaner this is just cluttered and to complex.
And it looks unfinished imo like abit merkie washed out colors and im not to sure about how dark the site looks now i no it was always black at the top but its just gone dark side.

I'm all for the accounts iv already sgined up but really don't like this layout needs a lot more work to get it looking really slick like other competitors....

And as jonC said it is to generic it looks big and mean like yes your going to spend loads of money but we don't care. The old site said we are more like a nice place with a good community and like to sell you these parts because its what we are into as well. So much nicer experience made me feel happy about spending so much.

now ill probably get the "giving money to a big etailor feeling" if there is such a thing...

Just wanted to say well done on the site update!

Was taken back by the design and I had to check the url a few times

I've still got the same problems with it as before when it was trialled, the layout of items in the basket doesn't work well for cutting and pasting while doing a PC specification, the website looks pretty generic and possibly the most annoying thing is that the links to the full items specification on the manufacturers website are no longer there as far as I can see.

I recognise the last one is probably the simplest to change but I think it would be a lot better if the links still existed. :)

Really liking the new site, because...

. Finding things i didn't even know OcUK had.

. Like the rating system.

. Cheaper delivery by the looks of it.

. Stock levels.

. Easy to browse.

Good work guys.

stock levels and customer reviews are the only thing that i like

its slower,
the front page is cluttered and not very user friendly (looks much like a certain other web based competitor)
it actually took me a while to find the forum button, would have thought it would have been a little more prominent than it now is
its more difficult to navigate, and whats the point in having a components line across the top AND the side, surely only one would be necessary?

just my opinion.

Well I've had a browse tonight, trying to find a graphics card for a friend and must admit I don't like it at all. The old sites simplicity and clear product images was great, this is now looks many other sites which I avoided in the past in favour of OcUK..
