New OCZ Modules

I have just purchased some, they are a bit hard to find.

And OCZ say they have fully tested with my board ASUS AN8 SLI DELUXE, cant wait may be able to get more out of my Opty now.

Let hope it arrives before the W/E.
 
I tried googling but no joy as yet. OcUk haven't replied to my enquiry either. I assume that if I wait a week or so then they will start to pop up then :)

Can you post to say how you get on with the RAM? Also I realize that you cant say how much you paid for it, but can you let me know where it's positioned in the market roughly (ie is it going to be on a par with Mushkin redline price wise etc).

Well the OCZ Platinum PC4000 EB's do even better timings @ 3-3-2-8 1T @ 250mhz.... They cost less than the Redlines by about £30. In fact, the EB's are in my sig right now....such a good set of sticks. Runs 2-3-2-5 1T @ 200mhz and I tested it up to 270mhz 3-3-2-5 1T.

it wont allow you to get more out of your opty?

If anything you will now run 1:1 which may hold back your max overclock.

Never sacrifice cpu speed just to run 1:1
 
I just got a pair of the GOLD version of this ram. Is there a massive difference between the Platinum set and the Gold set. ?

I'm guessing they will phase out the EB's? If so it seems pretty STUPID to bring out something new that isnt as good.

I doubt they will phase out the EB's - they will probably be a whole lot cheaper than the EB's and will be more value orientated.
 
Greyhound, on another note, hows your Opteron 165 doing?

You had chance to have a play with it, to see what she can do?

Just curious as i have one with the exact same stepping as yours..

I have no idea yet mate! I've been having lots of problems getting it all set up (finally solved by the realization that my board seemed to be undervolting VDIMM) and now am having problems with my Cubase installation, so to be honest I haven't cranked it up yet. I've got a whole day to play tomorrow though, so I'll let you know!

How's yours doing?

At the minute shes doing 2.5GHz prime stable on default vcore, using retail heatsink. She doesnt seem to want to go any higher without more vcore, but im waiting till i get her under some watercooling before i push the vcore up.

Just waiting for the place i bought it from to refund me for the mobo i bought at the same time, because they sent the wrong one.

So i cant do my new water install until, they refund me and i then buy the correct mobo elsewhere :mad:
