New Office Virus?

Had a bunch of calls from random unrelated customers all day saying they are having problems opening and saving office documents with MS Office hanging at random, this is too much of a coincidence. I have found no reports of a virus on all comps. Any ideas? A new virus perhaps?

That could be caused by multiple things, you'd have to be a bit more specific.

Yes, it could but background programs have been disabled, two antivirus packages have been tested and the problem seems to be spreading. Must be a new virus :cool:

Problem is caused when a security update is installed. I think if you look in add/remove programs in the control panel and ask it to show updates, I think the update you need to remove is KB908513 or something similar. You should be able to tell by the date it was installed.

you dont need to remove it. just run the fix the MS tell's you on that site. I had the problem on my machine and now it is fine again
