Been a while since i did a Fantasy army, last one i did was about 7ish years ago, and was Orcs and Goblins, so have decided to do the opposite end of the scale Ogre kingdoms :D

List is 2023 points
1 Tyrant
1 Firebelly
6 Ogres
10 Ironguts
4 Leadbelchers
4 Mournfang Cavalry
1 Giant

Already have the giant from my Orcs and Goblins, and today went and today went and grabbed an Ironguts box

Plan is to do a paint log, going tomorrow to grab some of the paints i need and hopefully this week i should have these 4 ironguts painted, looking forward to it :D:D

I'm in the process of doing an ogre kingdoms army myself. Got a couple of units in the process of being painted, will get some pics of them & my character conversions when I remember to bring them home from work

Very nice, im liking the flesh a lot and the bag looks nice aswell.

Need to pick out that stiching on the trousers tho.

And dont forget to base models, they make them look a lot better.

Flesh looks good!

Very jealous of ogre kingdoms, purely for the numbers of models they have to paint! Will look brilliant once they're based and details made obvious. Brilliant models, some of the best GW have made recently, and an army to be contended with!

Where are you based?

ty for the response, plan is to base them once i find some decent basing stuff, will try and pick out the stitching :D:D hopefully tomorrow will have photos of 2 painted mournfangs up (without the riders) hoping that i can maybe get the mournfangs painted by the end of next week and the riders, then move on to the rest of the ironguts and the beautiful firebelly and tyrant.

also got the movement trays cut out of like 1.5mm stainless steel and bought 3mm by 1mm magnets to put on the bases sowhen they are on the metal movement trays they will stick to it and not fall off on hills. also got a piece cut the size of the batallion box so i can transport the army, trying to fit ogres into any models case as well as the mournfangs just isn't going to happen

Thats a really good idea, never thought of magnetising my fantasy army... May have to nick that one :D

yeah seen a few people do it with movement trays and rubber steel sheets in the trays, my dad designs metal parts to be cut with a laser so asked if he could get a couple of rectangles cut for movement trays

Going to look good :) Ive done magnetic movement trays before on an undead army as there were so many it was easier to move them around.

I still used a plastic base painted up and decorated (the normal ones you get from GW)and put the metal underneath and the magnets on the figures. That way to the eye no one can tell they are magnetic.

More pics when its all finished :)

Both really good ways of doing it. Got an entire lizardman army (80 saurus...) armed with spears which are such a pain, they refuse to stand up.

You guys use the tiny rare earth magnets?

I think I've got some floating around from my flames of war panzer IVs somewhere.. Will have a fiddle, though will definitely need some more.

Having massive problems with my hormagaunts at the moment for 40k.. why would they make it so they can't stand up?? Cant even magnetise onto a movement tray for them :(

finally the photos of the mournfangs

The camera i'm using takes the photos in like 1,000,000 x 1000,000 pixels to highlight every single thing thats wrong with them....think im gonna have to go back and fix a few things i missed :D:D

now, what i have left to paint......

Haha, always a problem! It's one reason why I don't use my proper camera to take photos... Really puts you down! They look good though. How'd you do them?

Maybe I should show how many 'nids I've got left :P

haha nids yeah painting 1 million of them for 1000 points :D:D

emm basically mournfang brown for the fur, badab black wash (null oil), baneblade brown for the light patches with a agrax earthsahde wash. Baneblade brown was also used to drybrush the fur. khorne red for the strap for the harness, boltgun metal for all the metal areas washed with badab black and then dry brushed with runefang steel. and then the horn things at the back of the harness were done with administratum grey mixed with some black to make it a darker grey. then washed with badab black. the tusks, teeth and toes were painted with rakarth flesh and washed with agrax earthshade

Thats an interesting way of doing the tusks actually, may try that. Doing a hive fleet kraken scheme for my 'nids, so a similar sort of colour for the carapace, just doing those with white undercoat (not suitable for you :D), then seraphim sepia and a drybrush with tyrant skull
