Want to replace my os drive, as its a 4 year old seagate 120gb sata. Want some faster booting.

Currently using 50gb of the drive. Dont really want an ssd, as they are still quite expensive at the moment.

I have a 640GB Samsung F1 for games, music, pictures etc etc.

Also have another 120gb samsung which has an old xp install on, so i guess i can use that for more data but cant see my self using the 640gb any time soon.

Any ideas? dont really want anything loud as i have w/c'd pc already.

no real budget, but depends on ssd prices.

Rest of spec is per sig, apart from Q9550 @ 3.5GHz now and the memory is running @ 822mhz.

after having a look at ssd prices, they are more than to spend for the capacity

Same here - not quite convinced by SSDs yet but don't want a big drive for OS use. I notice there's still a few 74GB Raptors on the market so thinking about one of those...it's tricky to find a fast OS drive that's not too big.
