Hey there guys ,

I've recently built my first high(er) en gaming rig and I'm a total noob at overclocking so please bare with me . Let me start by listing my specs .

Corsair C70 Military Green Case .
Gigabyte z87-HD3 Motherboard.
Corsair 600CX PSU .
Intel 4670k Haswell
Corsair 8GB (2x4) 2133mhZ RAM Vengeance Pro
Corsair H100i Cooler (in PUSH/PULL)

OZC 60GB SSD
500GB HDD Seagate
(#**Currently No GPU**) Using Intels onboard graphics for now as I can't afford one just yet . I have to say they are pretty damn good !

I've managed to overclock the CPU with my noob skills to 4.5Ghz by increasing the vcore to 1.258v . I've ran Prime95 for a couple of hours and I'm breaking temps of around 60-70 degrees Celsius . My question is basically is that a safe way to overclock ? Is there anything else I should keep an eye on ? I've ran intel burn tests on "Very High" tests and even then I'm breaking 73degrees max .

Is that good ? I guess I just dont want to ruin anything on my system by messing with something I know little about . If I'm doing good then feel free to give me a pat on the head , if however I'm doing it wrong ... TELL ME ! :D

Thanks and hope ya can help :)

I think that's pretty good but I've only done little research into changing setting like BLCK etc , so like I said I'm a total noob ! I think I could get mine safely to 4.8 but I'm going to hold back until I get a GPU .

My temps while gaming stay 50 or under which is awesome. I could probably go even lower with vcore but I don't have the time to do testing at the moment !

Noob OC'er here as well lol.

Very happy with my 2500k 4.5ghz @1.3v, about 25-30c idle and 60c flat out with intel burn test on high with a single 120mm rad with one fan in pull config.

Ok , my latest update :

I decided to completely reset my overclock due to instability . well I put another HDD into my system which turned out to be corrupt....etc.....etc....

So with a fresh overclock I decided to take another angle at it . So far I've managed to get at a decent (and stable) 4.3 GHz using only a mere 1.180v. I thought that was pretty good . In terms of temps nothing breaks 60 degrees under 100% load.

I could maybe even go lower but I think I may stick at this for now.
