Been buzzing all day today at the thought of getting this built. Like i said its about 15 years since I put one together.

So bought everything exceeeeept... Bottled out of the graphics card last minute (everything else coming today)

I'm now considering keeping my 1080p monitor and dropping back down to the 1060, from what you have said above this is a very capable card in itself.

One question i have though is there's tons of different brands and most can be bought at a similar price if you shop around.

If I was going to go for a 1060 what would be the best brands to be looking at?

I've been reading about both the 1060 and 1070 today.

I understand that there are differences in out of the box click speeds but other than that I'm not sure what else you should be looking for between brands ..

I was actually looking at this one

But not sure what justifys the extra price... Any help?
 
EVGA has the best customer support and has 3 years warranty over the 2 years for the KFA2 but im a very budget oriented, Its a tuff call but its your call.

Forgetting budget and aftercare can you see any justification for getting the evga over the kfa2? Reliability etc?

It's the same for the 1070 quite price difference between the two. ( I still haven't ruled out the 1070 yet)
 
You dont need a 1070 for 1080p.

The main reasons for the price diffrence are the above and maybe smaller factors but reliabilty is a diffrent matter as i have had gpu,s from budget and high end manufacutrers.

None have brocken.

I understand.. I'm thinking about future proofing.

If I got the 1070 now i have the options still then of upgrading the monitor at any point without the GPU.

There shouldn't be any issues with my CPU & motherboard with the 1070 should there..?

There should not be issuies with motherboard if you go for a 1070, the only thing is that you may have to update the bios on the motherboard to accept the 1070. That would be the same as well for the 1060 but only update the bios if the gpu doesnt work.
