New PC (another spec me)

hey guys im sure your all tired of this by now but i hope someone can help me.

My brother is going to be upgrading his pc soon so iv been looking at what to buy.

Hes going to be running multiable applications so wants 4gb ram, Now dunno weather ddr3 is worth it or not, and if ddr3 is worth it then he will get 2gb and then get more if needed.

he has around £1000 and doesnt need a case/hhd/monitor, So just Mobo,cpu,gfx,psu,ram.

I know in Jan theres new hardware coming out so dont know weather to wait for that so i can get it a lot cheaper, but dunno.

Also he will be running vista x64

DDR3 isn't worth buying right now with prices like that, he wouldnt see much of a difference. my suggestion would be to get 4gb's of DDR2 and wait until DDR3 drops down in price.
