Hey

Just built a new PC with the following spec:

ASUS P8Z68-M PRO motherboard
Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer 2x4GB (ddr3/1600)
i5 3570K 3.4Ghz (with retail heatsink/fan)

I've put together just the board, RAM and CPU. System boots, but no display and no beeps. There is a red light on the board named 'DRAM' which is constantly on (red). Board has onboard dvi, vga & hdmi; nada on any of them.

I've tried:

- CMOS reset (with jumper and battery)
- Seating the RAM in every combination possible with 1 stick and 2
- Booting up outside of the chassis (to eliminate a possible short from a brass holder)

Has anyone any ideas what this could be? Crucial website says that the memory is compatible with the board, yet my research on this dreaded red light indicates its not. I guess something could be broken, but wouldn't it beep to high heaven? (it does beep if i take the ram out).

Any ideas would be appreciated. Spent a fortune on bits and it doesn't work! :(

Haven't seated the graphics card yet. Wanted to get the bare bones working first.

Have been reading about pins on the LGA socket getting bent that could cause the issue. Anyone know if they should all be 100% vertical or whether they are slightly inclined?
