New pc build, first SSD

Hello,

Building a new pc with my first ever SSD!!! MX300 525gb

Is there anything I need to do in windows to keep it working well? To stop too many writes etc etc? Or does windows do everything?

I presume stuff like streaming media, kodi etc etc all happens in RAM so I don't need to worry about that.

PC is for gaming and general use so I will be installing games on the SSD.


Any advice would be great.

Is this as a system drive or extra drive? I would recommend using it as the system drive personally.

Make sure windows is installed with AHCI support.
Make sure windows is not trying to defrag the drive.
Try to leave at least 10% of the drive empty at any one point.
