It's probably best to plug the fans into the mobo. By doing that the 'board gets to control their speed by varying the input voltage. If you plug straight into the PSU the fans will be at 100% power even when it's unnecessary. That would possibly leave you with more noise than is necessary.

You could, in theory, but it wouldn't do much good without being able to see anything on screen.Jimmy1983 said:Can I power up my build without a graphics card, or should I just wait?

How would you browse the BIOS with no display? You'd have to have something like a serial console cable and I've seen very consumer boards that feature that.Jimmy1983 said:Yeah thought so. I was thinking I could just see if everything comes on. Well the fans, and browse the BIOS and get familiar with it.

Well think about it. You wouldn't have a graphics card attached. The graphics card is home to the VGA or DVI ports. Without those ports you wouldn't have anything into which you could attach your monitor's signal cable. With no signal transmitted you'll have a rough time viewing such a signal.Jimmy1983 said:I thought you could, looks like iam waiting till tomorrow then.
