Wouldn't it be better/wiser/easier/etc to install the CPU, HSF & RAM on the mobo before you put-it into the case?

Yer thats what I though. Best to wait til I get all the psu?

Arctic Silver 5 decent for using as the paste between the CPU and heatsink, or is there better?

Hard disk, definitely SATA & go for the faster Seagate 7200.10's ;)

DVD-Writer, its still debatable since speed of PATA/IDE system is still more than adequate. People are choosing SATA over IDE more for 'aesthetics'.

Remember the mobo comes with at-least 2 SATA cables among other cables. If you need more consider getting them with the order since buying individually can prove expensive!

What the difference between the HDD's both the same speed?

I don't know if you intend to overclock but it might be worth getting a new HSF as the stock one won't hack it.

Won't be overclocking straight away, but yeah if I do I will get a different HSF.

I prefer SATA optical drives purely for the benefits the smaller cabling lends to a tidy case. I can't stand routing massive IDE cables and I'm willing to pay a little bit more to save myself the work.

Agreed, sata cables are much easier for cable management.

Brought a cheap dvdrom for the the time being.

Got a number off questions

Ive got the Geil ram, what slots should I put them in on the motherboard? The DS3P has 2 red and 2 yellow slots.

There are a number off SATA ports on the DS3P, which one does the HDD go into?

Is it best to power fans off motherboard or straight from psu?

Iam sure I will have a few more soon :o
