£25 more but a Lot more Power ! Puts it in line by 3-4fps on RTX 2080 !

Save more cash ! Intel isn't critical with ram speed or IC type

Also 650w is plenty for 2080 Super !! So more savings as Corsair 650w is on sale !!

Ditch the 256GB SSD, specially if being used for OS.
Keep it on the larger faster drive .

Also for Samsung price.. nvme

In-stock on Corsair website

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £1,585.77 (includes shipping: £15.90)

Cheaper and more powerful. Could even add rtx 2080 super for £700 on the 28th with savings. Also upgrades Base 900 to newer version

Thank-you very much for your input. Please see below my final shopping list, Could someone please have a look over the list and ensure I am not messing up on anything? I have also purchased an SSD card as you mentioned above:

Additionally, i have noticed that the RTX 2070 Super Windforce is a pre-order, do you know when it will be released and/shipped?

Thank-you

That Noctua cooler incl. already NT-H1 high-end heat-conducting paste. That Noctua paste is really good and working stuff. I have used it in many OC systems around 10years period and not a single problem with it. So you do not need to take that Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound at all so you can save that £6.49 if want to.

What is the build for ?

Nice looking case but you could easily get something for around half the price. A Full Tower is a bit pointless these days unless you plan on filling it with a custom loop or dual graphics etc. And SLI is pretty much dying a death anyway.

You not considering Ryzen ?

I would take a BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro 4 for the aesthetics over a Noctua.

The Thermal Grizzly as listed above is better paste.

Maybe look for a cheaper copy of W10. I personally wouldn't pay £110 for it.

The 2070 Super is already out, but it has probably just sold out the initial batch. The 2080 Super is due out next week.

Good Evening all,

After the input above I have decided to look at an AMD system, please see below the following system I am looking at; in your expert view which would be the better system and is it all compatible?

That's still a lot of cash and most here would deduct the windows licence for a start as you can do better (an auction site with an ssd and windows already sorted for £40 for example, or a key for less than a tenner).

Your case is epic but silly money imo, your cooler is a lot and there's no way you'll notice a 3700x over a 3600 most of the time, if ever.

Ditch the 9700 and get a Zen2 based 3700x, much more powerful processor.

Not really, gaming wise 9700k. Value wise 3700x but need B450 - just watch bios updates and amount you update . 3900x is the best value along with the incredible 3600.

@Pencils

Stick with 2070 Super or 2060 super ! Vega 64 is EOL and Navi is the better option ! Even with a blower style card which is loud !

You have 3)4 yr warranty on Nvidia cards to Vegas poor 2

Use Dark rock 4 instead of Pro with Ryzen as it doesn't need that much cooling. Could even use Dark Rock Slim to save cash .

Base 900 is a very very nice case but look at base 700 to save a little cash and sizing.

With Super cards can use 550/650w PSU which saves a lot of money !

You also have no storage ?

I can put also option which is also nice case to build. Solid craftmanship not a plastic feeling case. Fractal Design R6 Temprered Class case. I have built this R6 few build to others and one on my own old computer.

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/frac...ower-case-black-tempered-glass-ca-07g-fd.html £144.95

p600s pretty much surpasses it now. better airflow, can be quieter , offer dual systems, USB 3.1 C port and cheaper

do like Fractals new RGB version though !!

but ouch, the pricing !

Already said it. 9700K for gaming and value wise AMD.

@Pencils

If you need much of a horsepower that 3900X will give that headroom over Intel. Also not bad at gaming.

Also lets make this clear. If you play only 1920x1080 resolution Intel gain more fps with that one. When you go up at resolution like 2K 2560x1440 cpu will do less fps differentials there, but still little and 4K 3840x2160 resolution will make it very minimal between Intel and AMD.

So resolution is all in all what is better if only gaming. Software side AMD will crush intel in many occasions for less money.

Edit. I gotta tell this. When you look my computer specs. It's few years old 12-core Threadripper. People come say to me it can't do gaming at all because it's HEDT platform and not build for gaming at all. Note this: 3900x 12-core is far more faster and better than this processor I own at this point.

My aswer for many people usually are. It can do gaming where as also Intel does. Why it can do it? Because I use 2560x1440 when gaming and take not so much penalty comparing at Intel side. But when I Streaming same time when gaming I still can do everything at this one computer. I stream 1920x1080@60fps with X264 software so I make streaming encoding with processor.

Either you choose Intel or AMD you will get a decent package there. You gotta choose which one you wanna go for, Intel or AMD. What is must have like case, or what brand motherboard or something like that. And then it's much more easier to give a list of components as well.
