Just wondering if anyone could help me out.

Took delivery of my Tyrannosaur from OCUK today and tonight ive been able to get to it. However as the Graphics Cards (2x580) were not plugged in for transport issues, I had to do this myself.

Ive plugged in GPUs before and these went in fine as per the guidelines I got as well. Anyway first boot up and I look in device manager and both my 580s are shown, but with an exclamation mark and the error 'Windows has stopped this device from working error code 43'

Please can anyone tip me off as to whats wrong? I assume the cards are OK as OCUK would have tested them, they also went in without problems and the PC does recognise them... but obviously something dosent want them to work :(

Did you remember to install the drivers?

I assumed these would have been done by OCUK just because how could they test it? Im happy to be proved wrong if thats not the case though, ill admit to being clueless here. I mean I have uninstalled a GPU before and then downloaded drivers and run them....

You've got nothing to lose in reinstalling the drivers if they are already installed to see if that solves your issue.

The SLI bridge is a ribbon cable to connects the two GPU's together to make them act as one.

Ive definately not connected a ribbon... i put in the power cables, is this ribbon easy to find? The cards didnt come with it on them, would that be in their box?

I've just Googled 'SLI bridge' and it appears that some can come in the form of a PCB with two connectors at either end. Here is what you should be looking for:

If you cannot find it, drop OcUK an email and I'm sure they will be happy to help you.

OK thanks for that, ill open it up - the cards did not come with those things as far as I can see.

However the good news is that i updated the drivers and the PC now recognises them both, but did ask me to connect the SLI together....so im assuming im missing something :(

Would it be a motherboard thing or something that NVIDIA should supply with my cards? (They came in seperate boxes btw)

I think that the SLI bridge comes with the motherboard and not the card. Just check in all the boxes in case OcUK have hid it somewhere ;)

OK nice, found that and attached - now the computer recognises that im SLI... however something else has cropped up!

Its now saying that my 580GTX (1) is not in a high performance PCIe slot... but im sure it is, I mean I can only see 2 on the motherboard and the GPUs are in there. Is that normal, or is the slot broke?

Thanks for all the help so far :)

It is probably because the motherboard has one PCI-E slot running at x16 and one running at x8. However, I have never heard of this before. But then again, I have never SLI'd a GPU before as I do not require it.

Test it out by playing some games for while and if you are not experiencing any problems then I would not worry about it too much.
