New PC Delivered - How long should i wait before turning on?

i would say a monitor getting damp and a whole computer gettign damp are fairly different situations

also, monitors dont store much crage any more unless they are a CRT....then if you touch something you shouldnt your probably going to die
I don't see what monitors storing electricity for, has to do with anything.

At the end of the day, my monitor will have a transformer circuit with smoothing capacitors. As do most/all computer supplies. Regardless of high or low their output is, at some point 240v is entering the monitor.

my reply was in reply to someone saying they touched intside the back of their case and got a shock...this would not happen with a flat screen as there is not really anything to touch

Remember that waiting a few hours for the machine to come up to the temperature of its surroundings and any condensation to evaporate off is a lot quicker and easier than RMAing the system if it blows up!
