A sunnier or damper area than Ron-ski....
Hi all,

Got all the components for a new pc just delivered from OCUK, have built and nothing turns on - no fans, mb beeps etc.

Obviously checked power etc, tried checking PSU in another case and everything's fine, so PSU is ok, also checked case switch which is fine.

Is there anything else I can check or is my MB dead and needing sent back? Assume as there's not even a cpu fan it can't be memory, gfx card, cpu etc...

Many thanks! :D

What re your full specs?

Are there any LED'S on board illuminated.

4 or 8 pin for cpu power connected.

got all the atx power connectors in, 24pin and the extra 8pin

try just one ram stick.

triple check the power switch header in to the motherboard.

Hi folks, thanks for your replies

Yep got both the 24 pin and the extra 8pin connected.

Thats annoying :(

Can you try external to the case on the box the motherboard come with, you start the board by linking the pins for power on switch.

Yeah flipped the power switch around + to -, tried it even in the reset switch to check that (done a multimeter test and the switch seems fine also).

Will try the RAM check - would this potentially cause a dud start (thought it'd be more a whirr and then a memory beep error or something?)

Don't do it on the what? <BBBBZZZZZZ!> ;)

Ok will try that also then (though should say have tried in two separate cases now also, so not sure that may be it either)...

Hi Lakeland - well it's where it says PWR on the motherboard pins and the cable has MB S/W so assume that's motherboard switch?

But have tried flipping, changing etc

Is PWR a typo? Hopefully it is because according to the manual the pins labelled PWR are for the power led. The power switch goes across the pins labelled PW+ PW-.

bremen - yes you're right that's what I meant! ;)

Ok - sounds like I'm heading for an RMA - tried everything above.

Don't think I have any ddr3 - might have a stick of ddr2 I could try, so will give it a go (though I guess chances of both sticks being dud is surely small?)
