New PC if I get this new job...

I have an interview tomorrow, and more people are starting to come back to me about job applications, I'm starting to think about what I can spend money on :p

I have been wanting to upgrade for some time now, and hopefully my plans will be reality shortly.

Can someone help spec me some components please :D

Here's what I already have, that I could keep:
- Operating System (Windows 7, x64)
- 1.5TB SATA II HDD for storage
- 650w CoolerMasters PSU (will upgrade if needed)
- Mouse
- Keyboard
- 24" liyama 1080p Monitor (Will upgrade eventually - 2 or 3 new high res / maybe 3D monitors if possible)

What I would like:
- Large case for good watercooling (Shinbo XL looks good!)
- SSD for OS and Programs
- Overclocking - i5 2500K seems to be highly rated...
- Option to go SLi for graphics (I have 460GTX, but will upgrade this)
- As top of the range Motherboard as I would need, without being silly!

I'm totally open to ideas.... I was going for a black/orange colour scheme, so anything that would suit this would be a bonus, but not required!

Budget?... Let's try keep under £1000 (not including watercooling or monitors)

Anything i've missed, please let me know...
Thanks in advance, guys :D

Thanks very much :)

Will the board that has been mentioned support PCI-E 3.0 (does it need to be v1.3?) and will it be compatible with Ivy Bridge once it is released?

Thanks again

So I got me a job now :D

With the new Z77 boards and Ivy Bridge approaching, I was wondering if anyone could help me out with a new spec/advice :D

I also just won myself a BitFenix Shinobi XL, fans and cables, so that'll save me a few bob :p

There don't seem to be any orange/black motherboards [Z77] :(
YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail £173.99

Are you going to be watercooling then?
Could get a larger SSD if you like
This motherboard supports SLI [and your PSU will be fine for 460 SLI]

Thanks for that :) I will be watercooling :D

Are these new Z77's much better than the Z68's? I've not read up too much about them...

Thanks again

Okay guys, so after what has felt like the longest month ever..... I get paid on Thursday and will be buying my gear at last!!! :D

So I'm thinking....

Stick with SB - 2500K
Motherboard - Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H
RAM - Corsair XMS3 8GB (2x4GB)

I'll keep my GTX 460 for now (until next payday)

I'll be needing an SSD, but not sure what size to go for....
650w PSU will do for now as well until I convince myself SLi IS worth it :D

I'll be water cooling - not sure if that will be this month or next month (this month I hope)....

Any issues / advice regarding the CPU / Mobo / RAM???

Thanks again :D

-edit-

Oh and I'm no longer going for black and orange, as I won a whole load of BitFenix cables and fans with a Shiobi XL, so I'm trying out with a white / blue theme :D

Hey, some good choices there. Go with the 3570K though as its newer and not much between them price wise.

128GB is a good size, though theres a 256GB M4 on offer today so consider that!

For a 460 550W is plenty, and this is modular. Depends what upgrades you're thinking of if you want more power. The XFX 850W on offer has enough power for high end SLI

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - Retail £173.99

Total : £520.94 (includes shipping : £10.00).

It was on offer at the time, the Corsair XMS is a good choice now :)

Thanks again :) I currently have a 650w Cooler Master PSU, so i'll keep hold of that for now :p

I have seen a few people say they woud happily return their Ivy's for SB again, which worries me about going Ivy. You think it's worth going Ivy? :)

Pay day :D :D

Just to double check - there are a few different types of XMS3.

I should go for the "PC3-16000C9 2000MHz Dual Channel Kit" stuff??

Also, Should I go for 2x 8GB or 2x 4GB?? It would be nice to have extra for running virtual machines, sound production etc (i'm just trying to convince myself, because 16GB sounds awesome :p )

The 16GB kit is 1600MHz... will this be noticeably slower than the 8GB at 2000MHz?

Can anyone else give a quick opinion on Sandy vs Ivy, just to make sure I make the right decision here :) (I do trust you, beejjacobs... but it's a lot of money, so no harm in double checking :D )

I have x64 Win 7 Pro

------ Edit

And also,

This - Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-389-GI&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=2261)
or
This Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-388-GI&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=2261)

:D

All good? Say the word, and i'll press the button.... I've been waiting so long for this.... :p

:edit:

Err, is this right....

OCZ Agility 3

has a much higher (up to double) write speed than the

Crucial M4

and is slightly cheaper?

This always happens... I think i'm getting there, then something else creeps up to investigate :D

I've heard many good things regarding the M4 though, so I think i'l probably just go with that!
