New PC or can i just ugprade a few bits?

I'd have a look at these, if you want to save some money:

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £1,178.84 (includes delivery: £0.00)

CPU cooler:

FYI: the B650 Tomahawk has 6 SATA ports.

I know you said you want to avoid Asus, but the board is a good price.

Those two cases are on offer at the moment and look decent value.

Sx turbo, this is good thanks!
Is that air cooler sny good? Not seen it before. You have got me thinking of getting rid of my old rig entirely now! Doh! I would likely get back £500+ for it and someone would get a steal.

If you stretch budget to £2000, what would you tweak?

Is this primarily a gaming pc? If so why 64Gb of memory? 32Gb is more than enough, hell I haven't hit any problems with 16Gb. I would go with 32Gb of faster memory with tighter timings, say 6000mhz C30. I am aware that the 3d cpu's don't have so much of a increase with faster memory with tight timings but every little helps plus a future drop in cpu may not be a 3d version and then it would be held back by slow memory with loose timings. I would go for:-

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £143.99 (includes delivery: £3.99)

Or if you reall want 64Gb and wanted the fastest then this:-

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £248.99 (includes delivery: £3.99)

It's not a EXPO kit though so you may have to enter the timings and set the voltage yourself.

Yeah, fair point. In truth it well likely be more gaming than anything heavy. I will consider that, thanks.

I figured the XTX does not give a lot of gains and seemed to be more aimed at OC which I am not going to be doing.
Your right it's not great gains over the 7900xt but there's no where else in your build that would give you an improvement for gaming.

Choice is yours , best to keep your money imo
