New pc problem! :(

Just wondering if anyone can help :(

Ok, I couldn't see a section for help or I guess I'm just blind...but sorry if this is the wrong place to be posted...
But 1 week ago I purchased the Titan Predator X AMD Phenom II X4 840 3.20GHz @ 3.80GHz DDR3 System + 3 FREE GAMES from OCUK and I'm have A LOT of problems with it...Ok lets get to it...
(Just in case you need)

System Specification
- Case: Antec 300 Gaming Case w/ Red LED case fans
- Power Supply: OCZ ZS 650w PSU
- CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 840 "95W" Edition 3.20Ghz overclocked to 3.80Ghz
- Motherboard: Asus Crosshair IV AMD 890FX DDR3 Motherboard
- Cooler: OcUK H2 Flo Cooler
- RAM: 8GB DDR3 1600MHz
- Hard Drive: 500GB HDD
- Graphics Card: AMD 6450 GFX Card (Upgrade options available)
- Sound: 7.1 Channel Sound (On-Board)
- Optical Drive: LG DVD+/-RW SATA Drive
- Windows Ultimate (64-bit)

To start off with I know this PC is NOT the best of PC's but...

-The problems I'm having are such as when I'm playing Medal of honor 2010 and move the mouse? The movement seems to be a little delayed?

-I can't run most games...Cod MW2 laggs, BF3(although I knew it might be a little laggy on that), CS:S does too, TDU2, Black ops, and L4D2 :(

They all lagg and/or shut down while playing but after that happens my firefox crashes when the game closes and my display flashes...Like a black and then goes back normal and keeps doing that until restart...Really annoying seeming as my old PC could run all these games (apart from BF3) and has A LOT worse components and like 3-4 years old...

So what I'm wondering is...Is there any reason that it could be doing this? I have installed all updates/drivers too before that gets asked :P

Could it be the card? :/

It's impossible to game on a 6450 which has been designed for HTPC use and not gaming. This is why you're getting the lag.
 
Ok thanks a lot! So if I upgrade to the 6950 will that be all ok then? Sorry that I'm not very aware of this :P lol

Edit: Sorry for this but, You know when I get that upgraded card do you think it will then run flawless? like with COD Mw2 and BF3 maybe? Or would you also suggest upgrading other things too? (not looking to spend 1000's of pounds :P) haha.

Everything else looks fine, although I'm worried the CPU might hold it back due to the lack of L3 cache, but with that overclock it should be fine.

The 6950 2gb will blow away most games on max detail :).

Something like the 955 but I would see how things go with the 6950 first. The motherboard you have should also be Bulldozer ready so might be best to wait on those CPUs instead of the Phenoms.

Also is the power supply right staying how it is? Or would I also have to update that if I get the 6950?

A little off topic but I can't PM you.

Did you used to play Runescape with the same username you have on here? (Random Question)


On topic: It might look like you need to buy a new graphics card to game but it isn't too bad since you can get a decent enough Graphics Card to play Counter Strike for less than the price of a videogame.

haha, I still do play Runescape...I've never played with that name though haha :P

And yes, I'll just be buying the 6950 2GB when I get paid ^^

Woops, I was asking 'Orcvader' about runescape, lol.

But as for the 6950 thats not a bad choice, hopefully you get lucky and can make it into a 6970. ;)

Don't usually like to post things off topic but... yes, yes I did. Haven't played that game for a long while now though :p.
EDIT: Thinking about it, your name sounds firmiliar...

Back on topic, most 6950s can't be flashed anymore. But the 6950 is still a good card to play BF3 on ultra settings on the beta. How it will play on the release no one knows yet, but it still should be good.
