If I buy a new PC, and use my 500GB 2.5" SSD would that be noticeble bottleneck? 500GB is plenty for OS /app drive and for any dedicated NVME means I can reinstall windows without touching the larger capacity NVME.

Otherwise those 500GB SATA will be just left in the cupboard.

But, again, any SATA II SSDs still working would be so small that no-one rational would put one in a new PC. According to my records, I bought one in 2011 and it was 90GB.

500GB is useful for OS drive though, Corsair MX500. I like the idea of OS drive then another for games etc. It means a fresh install in case of corruption won't effect any other drive. I know you can partition a regular NVME but unsure about whole swapping etc, plus if you accidentally choose wrong partition during install, any bootloader issues etc
