2 things im not sure on are the RAM and the PSU.

I've been reading that the Gigabyte boards are a bit picky with the memory used in them - is the G.Skill ram i've chosen one that works ok with the DS3.

Also the PSU, not sure if the Seaconic 430w will be enought for that system or not (added as it seems a lot currently recommend the seasonic psus)

Thanks

The problem is with the boot voltage supplied to the RAM. The boards provide only 1.8V when some RAM requires 2.6V [or there abouts] at boot.

The newest BIOS revision should solve this but you obviously need RAM that works before you can flash to a new BIOS. I don't actually know if your RAM is affected so you might have no issues.

Your PSU is a great choice and 430W might be enough. However you may be limited when it comes to upgrades in the future. Personally I would go for the 500W version or even higher if you can afford it.

I have the S12 600W and it is fantastic and absolutely silent.

thanks to both of you - OC is out of stock on the 500w seasonic :( are there any other ideas for a PSU in the same price/range etc,

for Memory ive been looking a bit more and it seems that the gigabyte boards are picky with G.Skill.

I was looking also at the Corsair 2GB - Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2-6400C4 TwinX Price: £141.95 (£166.79 Including VAT at 17.5%)
