G.Skill 2GB DDR2 ZX PC2-6400 - incompatiable even when volted and timed manually, oddly mixed with GeIL 1GB (2x512MB) PC5300 667MHz Value DDR2 it works fine at DDR800 at 1.9v, prime and memtest86+ stable  One of my 2 Gskill HZ sets work ok.

Elixir PC2-5300U-555-12-D1 - compatiable

GeIL 1GB (2x512MB) PC6400 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 - compatiable

GeIL 1GB (2x512MB) PC5300 667MHz Value DDR2 - compatiable

DS3 and DS4, latest Beta Bioses and earlier bioses

Adata 512mb Vitesta ddr2-800 (pc6400) Elpida modules
cas5 5-5-15 1.8v works with all bios versions on DS3 compatible

Kingston 1gig Value ram 4200ddr2 (1.8v stock) Kingston labelled modules compatible and overclocks well

My god even the gigabytes having probs with certain ram starting to wonder wtf intel have done to us all with the 965 chipset
Nothing to do with the chipset, all to do with Gigabytes' bios settings..... The stock voltage on the board is set to 1.8v which is stupidly low.....

Try to find a set of PC6400 ram that runs at 1.8v

Well after having done a lot of research & reading the following ram is being reported as stable for these troublesome boards.... As you can see from my sig I have one of the incompatible ones that I will be RMA'ing in the morning:

Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2-6400C5 TwinX (2x1GB) (sent this back)

GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC5300 667MHz Value DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GX22GB5300DC)

does not work in my DQ6
don't know what to get next

Have you had it working at all?

Bios version?

Are you sure the board isn't borked!?

G.Skill HZ memory is compatible with the DS4 with F3 bios, it even defaults to the correct timings now. I suspect G-Skills other memory is also now compatible....

XMS2 PC6400 C4 Don't work in my DS4 even with the bios flashed to the F3b version....

I just think your ram was not working in first place as wellibobs also uses this ram and he never had any problems either, My mate got a DS4 and runs fine there also.Think you was just unluckly ;)
