I'm building my Dad a new PC to replace a crappy P4 John Prescott, 1Gb DDR2 setup. The hardware I have in my basket is as follows -
Gigabyte Z68A-D3 Intel Z68
Intel Pentium G620 2.60GHz (Sandybridge)
Corsair XMS3 4GB DDR3 PC3-12800 1600MHz
Samsung SpinPoint F3 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache
Intel 320 Series 40GB (25nm)
Of course this will all be running Windows 7.
Now the motherboard supports STC technology I was wondering whether I should setup the SSD as a support drive acting as large cache or weather I should just use the SSD to run the OS and use the hard drive for storage? If I do go down the STC would I be better of getting this 30Gb OCZ Vertex drive instead?
