New PC Won't POST

I only have 1 system fan, speaker, power switch connector, vga monitor connected, ps2 keyboard, psu connections and cpu cooler fan connected. Nothing else. Never bothered with the hard drives. After my last experience I decided to go minimal just to ensure it worked before I moved everything over from my current pc.

Uhm.

Monitor aint dead is it.. ? Sorry but had to ask.

Edit, can you take a pic of exactly whats going on now? or better yet a quick video of startup.

Perfectly sensible question to ask however the monitor is fine. In fact I checked it with two different monitors. One through dvi and one through vga. Neither showing any output.

Feel for you dude!

Hm, that picture wouldn't go a miss?.

Edit, any system beeps ? - Ah, saw you have no system beeps.

OK,

My third board arrived and this one works - hurrah. The only difference this time is that I fitted the stock cooler rather than the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro rev 2 cooler. The way I approached it in the previous 2 builds was to start with the better cooler and then revert to the stock cooler when things didn't work. I think the arctic cooling cooler is perhaps not working correctly anyway as the fan didn't always spin straight off - sometimes needed a shove to get it started however I haven't looked closely at that as I had much bigger problems with the non reponsive boards.

The onboard graphics are yielding blurry text on the screen which were sharp on my previous system using dedicated (but very old graphics card 6600GT from memory). It's probably a driver issue so will have to investigate that further.

I fitted a pci spdif out that I got years ago with a motherboard that I used way back as I connect to my Logitech z5500 speakers via coaxial cable and get sound out of the speakers and don't have that on this board built in. It works however when I plug in my headset (normal 2 leads) I get no sound coming through and the mic doesn't pick up any sound in the tests so I will need to workout the settings for that too.

However just glad to be in a position where I can actual do something.

Was running my VM and my normal stuff and the computer actual ran quickly so very happy.
