Hello all,

I'm looking at getting a new pc and knowledge is very limited.

I'm wanting to play games like Battlefield 4 and Titanfall (When it comes out) I'd like the pc to be able to handle those games comfortably at their highest settings in big resolutions.

I know this won't be cheap I have a budget of around £1800 but obviously would rather spend less if possible! But happy to pay it if not.

I'd also like the pc to last a little while.. I know how quickly hardware can get outdated but I'd just want it to cope with any new games that may come out for at least a little while! So I'd be looking to get mainly top of the range stuff.

I'd want to include a monitor but no need for mouses keyboards etc I've got hundreds!

Any help is appreciated.

Heres a start :D

Obviously you might want to change things depending on your requirements.

Do you intend to Crossfire/SLI your build ? Or would you rather just run a single GPU ?

Obviously the case is personal preference so you might want something different.

The Corsair cooler is very good, but depending on if you are looking to overclock the cpu or not then you could go for something less expensive.

I haven't specced a monitor. You might be as well asking in the monitors section for ideas on that.

Thank you sir!

Obviously having two GFX cards would give me more power, but what are the advantages of Crossfire/SLI would this benefit me a great deal?

I want to get as good as I can get and hope for the pc to last me a while. So will push the budget a little if its going to benefit me a lot in the long run.

Thanks for the help mate, looks good to me I appreciate it greatly. :)

If you are just looking to run a single monitor at say 1920 x 1080 then you might be as well just going for a single card. Obviously the higher the resolution, or if you were running multiple monitors then you would maybe look at a CF/SLI setup.

I would personally just go for the best single card you can afford and then worry about CF/SLI further down the line. The 850W psu would allow you to add another gtx780 if you went down that road.

If you are not in a huge rush to build you could wait for the non reference 290x cards to appear.

I would definately post in the monitor and graphics card sections and see what other people suggest. When you are spending £1800 or so on a pc you want to get it right :D

Also you might be as well asking a mod to move this thread to the general hardware section. You might get more replies that way.
