Hey all. I haven't built a PC for about 6 years and my system is starting to show it's age.

I7 8700k
Asus hero motherboard
Corsair 850w psu
Gtx 1080.
Corsair h150i cooler

I've purchased a
Zotac rtx 4080 super amp xtreme.

Looking for
Will keep case (fractal Design R6)
Storage and fans.

Want to stick with Intel,
I know amd has a better upgrade path but
I won't be upgrading. So as much future proofing as possible
Be another 6 years or more before next build.

Motherboard has 3x M.2 slots, which is nice, but the graphics is PCI-E 4.0, which might be a negative for you.

B760 can't overclock the CPU (memory is fine) and has limited undervoltage, but you can change the power limits.

what about AMD just been better than the current gen? so its better... and it as the next gen or 2 to upgrade into

i went from intel to AMD for my last build. Nothing bad to say about the chips. been flawless so far.
