New PCS+290 Arrived today plus some benchmarks

I watched the same tech showdown video. I thought the PCS+ should have won it tbh. Vapor was behind it (or equal) in every single test except for the fan speed utilisation and noise. That is, the PCS+ was the coolest card but was at 76% fan speed whereas the Vapor was only at something like 50%

Agree at £199 it seems an absolute steal atm. Especially at seeing the overclocks possible.

Did you get it from ocuk btw? Was the free game included? (Civilization Beyond Earth i think)

Agreed about the test between it and the vapor just left me scratching my head how it didn't win. Yeah i got it from ocuk and got the free Civilization game as well. I think the offers due to end tomorrow because its on offer for a week. Don't quote me on it though.

Im quite tempted to see if i can eak something more out of it, but after 7 cans of carling probably not the best idea :D

Got to say this bench marking is addictive really wanted to get over 1500 score, not for any particular reason just because i was so close. When i did get over 1500 i was like :cool:
 
ordered one of these today i hope mine does as good at that price it did seem like a bargin any way compared to others on offer

Yea have to agree! Don't really like the reference coolers on the 290/x series. They just wasn't quite upto the job IMO. I think thats why they designed the cards so they could run at 94/95 degrees constantly so the reference coolers could at least cope lol. But AIB coolers are just fine.

I know what you mean, before when i got the 290 i was baffled between which one to get out of the tri x and the one you got a while back but the the prices were a lot more back then on both and i weren't to sure about power color back then due to the lack of feed back, and lol teck showdown kinda helped to choose too.

To be fair i wasn't to sure either until i had seen the review on fudzilla and the youtube video. If it hadn't of been for them i might have gone with the sapphire because my 7950 saff has been so good over the years.

Could do with one of those reference coolers now my feet are freezing :D
 
This week only deals change every wednesday.
Yeah they have removed the game as well already. Seems like AMD are taking full advantage of the 970's, removing games now and the prices seem to be going up as well.
