So contemplating a new monitor, mouse and possibly some headphones.

I play fps only.

Current keyboard is a Razer Blackwidow stealth.

Setup is:
Gigabyte ATi Radeon HD 7950 Windforce
i5-3570K (at 4.4)
ASRock Z77 Extreme4 Z77
Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3

Was looking at:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Asus VG248QE 24" Widescreen 144Hz 1ms Gaming LED Monitor - Black £299.99
1 x Razer Abyssus Mirror 3500 DPI Optical Gaming Mouse £34.99
Total : £473.65 (includes shipping : £115.56).

Although the review of the monitor wasn't great, and not sure if my setup would even make use of it in games like crysis 3 etc? (I obviously game on very low).

Also picked the mouse based on pro quake players using it... but I'm not a particularly good player lol, so if there's better options let me know?

Thanks

What's your overall budget?

*Update*

I hate the razor products, but would recommend Corsair. I've owned both and the Corsair is 100% pure quality, comfort and control. Appreciate this is not everyone's view.

YOUR BASKET
1 x BenQ XL2420T 24" TRUE 120Hz 3D Vision 2.0 Widescreen LED Monitor - Black/Red £319.99
1 x Corsair Vengeance M65 Laser Gaming Mouse - Black (CH-9000022-EU) £54.95
Total : £388.44 (includes shipping : £11.25).

I also don't think the difference between 120/144hz is that much of an improvement, 120 being the cheaper option would be a good investment.

but he already has a razer keyboard. so its probably safe to assume he doesn't hate them, and it would be nice to get matching stuffs

Hi, if you change your mind about 3D monitor have a look at the BenQ, GW2760HM 27" Widescreen LED Professional Monitor - Black > This Week Only Offer £199.99, have the 24" can't fault it

Also the OcUK Mega Mat XXL Elite Tactical Gaming Surface £19.99, again have one very good mat for the price, this goes well with my Logitech G9X mouse, sadly OCUK don't stock them-

I should point out I wasn't even aware the monitor I spec'd was 3d... lol.

I was more sold on the 144hz and 1ms response time. Just trying to find something that's ideal for fps gaming really. 3D is something I wouldn't use much, however I guess I'd probably try out Skyrim in 3d (assuming it's fine with amd cards, since I only seem to see stuff about nvidia ones?) if I had one.

It's not essential however.

Also I really like that corsair mouse, it's probably my favourite choice but wondering if the extra buttons would annoy me?

I only have the razer as someone was selling it locally, really don't like the green lights lol.

Oh and yeah my shipping costs are huge due to where I live haha. So I'll be comparing ocuk prices and my local prices. Usually ocuk is still cheaper, however all together it's probably going to be £100 or so in shipping.

I have a BenQ 2420T 120Hz screen and it's completely awesome.
I've not tried it in 3D mode, but the extra smoothness you get from 120fps is fantastic.
I definitely wouldn't go back to using a monitor with a lower refresh rate after this.

The colours aren't great though; it's definitely a gamer's monitor. They're not so bad that it jumps out at you, but you can tell they look a little washed-out sometimes, especially if it's next to a monitor with superior colour reproduction.

Ok so currently looking at this.

Also thinking about getting a larger SSD and re-installing windows since my little 60gb one that I thought would be fine just can't hold any games.

So what's a good 200gb + SSD that doesn't break the bank?

The Samsung 840 series is a popular choice.

I have a Crucial M4 in my PC at work and I use an older C300 in my PC at home. To be honest I don't really notice the difference between them. The biggest difference I notice in bootup time is the BIOS on the different motherboards. I'd imagine anything around the £130-£150 mark / 256GB will be fairly similar.

Yeah, it's all about the read speeds and IOPs, which are fairly consistent across manufacturers. It gets more interesting when you need the write speeds as well.
