Hi All,

Curretly have an HTC desire which is getting to the point where it's only real use will be a door stop (constantly running out of space etc etc).

I don't want to start a new contact as I'm happy with my Sim only vodafone account - as its a friends and family staff account.

So what I'm after is advice on which phones I should look at picking up and paying for outright (happy with decent 2nd hand). I'd say I'd spend a max of £200 and want the thing to have a few years use in it.

Quite happy with Android so would lean towards this.

Checked out the specs and reviews and it seems like the Nexus 4 has the edge out of the two... no doubt you will see a " i bought a phone from ebay" thread from me soon in GD :p

I own an N4 and my son has an S3 and I would say the s3 is a better all round fone re camera, storage and completeness of ui-user experience, though in your position I would wait to see what happens with the Moto X and the Nexus 5 before making a purchase.

In case you get the wrong idea about my meaning the N4 is a great phone and I've loved having it but I prefer the completeness of my S4.

Depends what you want do but putting a custom rom the desire will give it a new life and yes you can even do proper app 2 SD which are brilliant. Got my desire and 1gb app partition on the sd so works really well. But you got a good excuse to upgrade now.

As good as the Desire was, it's painfully slow these days.

I'd choose a second hand S3 over an N4, but both have their pros and cons :)

ah ok, I was annoyed as the Facebook App cannot be moved across to the SD card but took all the space on the phone. I never looked into a partition solution, in fact never crossed my mind. Google search has revealed a OCUK thread about it so I will look that up later. At least this is a quick fix while and get the new phone sorted

I know it's over the budget you gave, but sim free S3s are £285 in the supermarket now.
