hey all. i currently have a lexmark x1150 (ithink thats the model) its an all in one scanner and printer thing and cost 40quid 2 years ago.
The thing is its rubbish. The pc needs to be on for it to photocopy and when i buy new ink cartridges they dry up before i even half use them.

Now im at uni and dont use the printer often, but when I do its for coursework and its very annoying to find my newish barely used cartirges are dryed up.

So.... can anyone recommend me an all in one printer?? im not fusses wether its inkjet or laser, but if one sort is less prone to dry up than the other im all ears. also please remember im a student so no 200quid printers pls :p

thanks

I got an Epson DX6000 all-in-one a couple of weeks ago to replace my aging Epson C62 and I haven’t looked back :D

I know there are a lot of Epson haters out there and arguably for good reasons? Epson are traditionally noisy, thirsty for ink and prone to clogging if you don’t use them every second of the day, but they are cheap, very functional and deliver outstanding results in all areas!

And the non-gen inks you can buy for them are ridiculously cheap…

I bought my DX6000 from an online retailer for £60 delivered – it’s since gone up quite a bit, but its still a great price now for such a cracking bit of kit! Plus I’ve just noticed the genuine inks have taken a bit of a price tumble?

I bought mine primarily for printing out my final report for my degree and that has included, loads of text, images (photo’s which are phenomenal!) and graphs/table etc and there's still plenty left in the tank ;)

I’ve always had Epson’s – and never had a (serious) complaint and as I always say, go with what you know :)

Good luck!

SW.
