I have a HP Envy Pro 6400 and its more hastle than its worth. I have been looking at the Epson Eco-tank range but I read about the Brother laserjet series being the best but its more expensive and takes up more space.

The problem with my printer is that it has print cartridges which dry up before the next time you want to print. So it costs £15 each time u want to print and its not even a guarantee of quality output.

I despise printers.

What are you printing? If it's just documents then I'd recommend a cheap mono laser printer. This is what i did and I'm still using the smaller introductory toner it came with years later.

If you are printing photos, you might be better off just ordering some from a lab rather than faffing about with a photo printer.

I have a Brother laser printer / scanner / copier. You need to look at the total cost of ownership. I've had it a decade. And yes, it does take up more space: you need space for the 4 drum & toner kits.

This. Especially if it's infrequently.

I have loved my Brother Colour Laser. Owned for 6 years but just recently broke writing it off really. :( I never buy warranty on anything, but did on this laser printer because I feel printers just always go wrong regardless. Warranty was for 3 years and a fairly cheap add on. Lasted for 6. I mean I suppose it's ok but, meh.

I have a Brother HL-L2370DN. It's old now, about four years. It's never missed a beat, excellent little thing.

They have barely changed in price since I bought mine. They on sale today at the forest.

I'm sure, though, there must be a more recent model.

ave a basic samsung laser printer, black and white, perfectly fine for the occasional print job, it works when I need it.
Thats what I have now. got fed up with buying cartridges everytime I wanted to print, think I paid £38.00, now it works after not switching it on for months, happy days!!

There's a place online that I probably can't mention (not forest) that probably would be classed as a competitor still to OCUK as they do sell some computer equipment. They market themselves as more of an "office equipment and stationery" type of place but do sell other stuff. They currently have 15% off using a legit voucher code advertised on their site for all new customers. They have Brother Laser printers in stock and free delivery over £49. The prices are competitive and inline if not the same as forest. The 15% off code works fine and I tried quidco cashback site for a further 11% off as well, but this rarely works when you checkout using a voucher code as well so a bit of a gamble.

If you only need mono (black and white) then they are significantly more compact as they don't need to house 3 x colour toners in addition to the black one. Also cheaper.
I need colour as we print a lot of homework and kids stuff where they need it in colour. I got the HL-L3230CDW for £219.60 reduced down to £186.66 delivered. I didn't bother with the 3270 as it's wider and £17 more for the sake of a prettier display panel and prints slightly faster.

They also have the HL-L2370DN Mono for cheaper than the prime day deal after 15% discount. Lovely little printer.

I've got a Brother HL-L2365DW which I bought about 10 years ago. It still works. It was their entry level mono laserjet. If I was buying again I might go a bit more expensive as the print quality always seems a little faded. If you want to browse manufacturer sites there's a list here.
