Thanks, the 9950x is £150 more but not available yet unfortunately, might just settle on a 7950x, I'm sure it'll be better coupled with a 4080S than my current R9 3900x and 5700xt

Yeah its not worth £150 more, £50 yeah maybe but no not that much, for productivity this is typical on the difference you're looking at, for gaming its about the same difference, that is to say its very capable, just not the best.

Thanks - this is very similar to what I saw on some video reviews I watched.
I'm happy to spend the extra £150 but would love to get the computer sooner and not sure when the 9950x pre-orders would be fulfilled.

I thought that may be frivolous.
I think some of 8Pack’s creations fill gaps in the market and occasionally open them. The performance of both those systems would be near impossible to replicate.
TBH 38k isn’t a terrible price for what’s on offer. Nvidia prices for its workstations start at well over 100k
im not saying it is, bit come on 4090's are over priced
