Would any of these be a considerable improvement over my Beyerdynamic DT770's? .New build weeks away (Considering Skylake Cpu though) so might just get some.

Depends, these all appear to be open backed while your M50s are closed backed. That may make a difference to you depending on where you use them.
At home on the PC as my go to headphones, Don't wear them whilst out and about.

I have a set of AKG 550s ( got them at £100 , should have been around £180 )and a set of HyperX headphones and when in games the 550s blow the HyperX away lol....best headphones I have owned so far

Nope, luckily I've managed to get my own game room that I don't usually get disturbed in.
well my 553 pros arrived last night and gotta say they are awesome the sound clarity is just unbelieveable compared to my old gaming headset. these are closed back but if the sound quality is similar for those above cant recommend highly enough
open back will be fine you will definitely notice an improvement for gaming.
Musically it's all about taste I so I can't say. Some music doesn't sound as good from headphones like the akg reference. Other music is served upto you as it was intended to be, with excellent clarity.
